The Demon of Unrest was incredible my favorite writing about the civil war i’ve ever read — but (understandably!) bleak stuff

Have read a lot about the ACW, but not much specifically about Sumter. Larson’s books are narrative driven and often have a true crime angle. That the case here? What was going on at Sumter during the bombardment??

you just casted a couple hours ago that you were picking up this book. How’d you finish it already? Larson covers and titles always call to me. I have yet to read one.

This will definitely be in my next library haul. Have you read Team of Rivals? Highly recommend if not!
