They help you unlock that speed and change the tempo from the constant stride. It helps me a lot!

That's definitely what I need to work on, my stride/gate is so bad. I mostly just slog and move a little faster than a brisk walk, so my step rate is slower than what's ideal. And pace wasn't too important originally, but now it's getting cumbersome to not prioritize it
