It’s kinda like playing a game where warpcast is the opponent and the referee, which is not attractive for any serious business Perhaps the most viable at this stage is a distributed effort to build an open source client and maybe raise some funds from the community to cover costs

No client can compete with Warpcast in current stage. Building something based on Farcaster social graph has more chance to succeed.

What do you think a competitor can be doing differently?

The current protocol 'standards' are mostly created by Warpcast team, but it discourages meaningful contribution since Warpcast is the arbiter of 'what gets in the protocol and what doesn't' initiatives like @df and @stephancill's open frames is on the right track, interoperability + community feedback go a long way

Not gonna happen. Everything about Warpcast to me is like a really cool side project but won’t change the industry like it wants to. There’s been way too much effort spent on experimental decisions that go nowhere and then get reverted, wasting time and resource. And yet it’s the go-to access to farcaster. Nook was great, but abandoned ship, for good reasons. Kiosk might be good but it’s just a waitlist right now.

I think it would be incredible hard at this since both have the same creator but it could be done.

I really like applications like Yup and Phaver; they allow you to be present on multiple protocols at the same time. And besides, they are quite cool to use. Now it just needs to become a habit, and Warpcast will no longer be necessary. But for now, it’s the place that captivates me the most. However, I don't think it will last forever. If Phaver and Yup organize the data better and manage the existing channels better, I am sure I will only come here rarely.
