it sucks that the ways to get attention and the ways to build something with staying power are almost completely at odds the reason crypto has taken so long to become legitimate is largely because social media algorithms dictate what even gets attention; their power laws reward short term greed, drama, engagement farming, and extravagant promises (which all have the unfortunate side effect of attracting bottom of the barrel users, and a lot of bots) meanwhile, legitimate builders often toil away in relative obscurity how do we fix this?

need to decouple the reward from the attention? make the reward more meritocratic --> attract better quality contributions https://farcaster.xyz/abundance/0x8caa8292

i think patronage and selling access to premium content is the way. the platform should be totally agnostic to "reward" imo

not a fan of selling access tbh. its so web2 we need to build business models for the world of bits - where data flows freely. not create artificial scarcity to turn the world of bits into a subset of the world of atoms. but agree that the platform needs to be credible neutral on rewarding creators have no seen your treatise. will dive in π π

the Platform needs to be neutral. otherwise we get another net neutrality crisis, no?

don't know if its a crisis (since it seems to be the norm today) but eventually creators will get tired of platforms that don't give them a fair shake - esp if we build neutral alternatives
