If you are running a "public" channel on Farcaster, how do you'll think about the distinction between followers and members? CC: @nonlinear.eth @ted @sahil @inceptionally @pichi @anmworld3

No distinction. I think it would really only matter for people with spam labels whose replies would otherwise be hidden.

For large channels like ITAP, it is mostly irrelevant, since I encourage everyone with a great photo to cast. For smaller channels I could see it being an interesting way to gatekeep for high quality engagement only.

For me, a follower is someone who occasionally consumes content from the channel; a member is someone who is more committed to creating content to feed the channel and getting involved with the activities that occur to create community.
