I've been trying to quit sugar for months, but I still end up consuming it in one form or another. How can I finally quit sugar?

For me it was the evenings when the craving hit. And it took about a week for them to go away, where I had to be strict not to indulge. What helped that week was when I felt it, I went and brushed my teeth. It signaled to my body that food time was over.
