xddd fun fact use this url to resize images on the fly https:// res(dot)cloudinary(dot)com/merkle-manufactory/image/fetch/c_pad,w_800,h_800/${url} it will resize horizontal images to a square one with automatic paddings

implemented but it slowed everything down too much... and some images wouldn't even load. d'oh. at least the 1:1 frame still loads horizontal images, just crops them to square instead of preserving the full aspect ratio.

try playing around with the cloudinary settings maybe the sizes are too big

you should just pass the image as the url so the frame is delivered instantly and image fetch is put to queue
