It's wild to me how little self awareness people have sometimes. For the last few days, there's been this disgruntled shareholder in a company I wrote a critical story about attacking my reputation on X and suggesting I made a bunch of errors because -- as far as I can tell -- he doesn't like the framing I used to describe the company's operations in Puerto Rico. It's fine to complain. But how does anyone think this is a strategy that's going to bolster the stock of a company that people with much better expertise than me think is about to go bankrupt? Not to dismiss the power of journalism, but I'm fairly certain story did approximately nothing to affect the downward trajectory of this company's stock price. I don't get how this form of venting does anything to change the odds of this one anonymous guy's bet.

Mistakes were made by a joint-stock corporation in which I have a financial interest.
