Something I noticed while testing a new mini app from @vrypan.eth is that I mentally have the same behavior with them as I do with web apps that request me to enable notifications. Because we now have so many mini apps, I instinctively decline adding the mini app the same way I instinctively decline browser notifications. Unfortunately I decline adding mini apps that I meant to and wanted to add.

The sdk should give us a bit more control, @deodad. Right now, I can use addMiniApp(), I can tell if someone has added the app or not, and if they have notifications enabled or not, but I can't show them a "Enable Notifications" button. And addMiniApp() does nothing if the app is already added.
