20 years ago I was 1 week into my first duty station in Germany heading to Iraq right after basic training & combat medic school...

Why was I there? To take care of my responsibilities as a father, taking care of the medical needs and beyond. 

Although the struggles were harder than I ever imagined they prepared me for the unimaginable 

However, moving forward and facing adversity head on instead of avoiding has helped me navigate through life and be a better father.
