I was wrong 1/2 A few nights ago I fired off calling a meme a rug and called out some big accounts for promoting it. I didn’t name them specifically in that cast, so I won’t do it here either. But you know who you are and you have my apology. Good game, and good luck with the meme. I’m honestly happy to say that I was wrong. I casted instinctively rather than doing any DD as I just didn’t want to see people getting hurt. I heard that the liquidity was unlocked, minter unrenounced, wallet clusters, etc. I wasn’t aware of who launched it, and 99% of the time, these setups get rugged. I’ll repeat, I’m happy to say I was wrong and I’ll try to do more verification if a similar situation arises. Having said this. It’s still not somewhere I would choose to put my money. If you missed what you thought was a good entry from my cast, I apologize for that as well. Don’t follow my advice on memes. What I can say is that I haven’t made 7 figures in crypto from memes as it’s not my game.

2/2 I’ve had more success by investing in high fundamental/high utility, innovative projects with active development teams. I’m not trading all of my Moxie for a meme. I’m choosing to parlay it into Fan Tokens as they are currently yielding high triple digit APR and giving the added utility of increased Far Score. I know it’s the safer choice, and not a pure degen play, but that is just how I operate. Could there have been potential for synergy, yes, of course. But really only if it was a more pro moxie project, and I feel it was launched as the opposite of that. The part I take issue with is the mantra of sell all of your Moxie to buy the meme. I think it’s divisive, creates more tribalism on Farcaster and we really don’t need that. They are your earnings, you can do what you choose to do with them.

I think it’s good to be wary. So many coins (particularly meme) are scams, rugs, hype or in general mid to long term losers. There’s much money to be gained by scamming people Part of it is also what you mentioned / repeating what you hear without due diligence. That also can scam people. I get the intent - you REALLY want to protect people. And I think everyone knows it

It's really great to see you acknowledge when you're wrong. I genuinely appreciate that quality in you. Many users out there often refuse to admit when they have made a mistake,instead, they tend to change the subject or shift the focus of the conversation. I'm with you dude, while I dabble in the meme game from time to time, I also wish they didn't exist. I remember in 2017 researching projects strictly for their utility, the changes they were trying to make, innovations in web3, etc etc, and now in 2021 - current we have this huge % of the entire liquidity in this space locked in dog tokens and other nonsense for people to gamble on. I hoped 2021 was an outlier, but boy was I wrong.

Degen is a nicer guy than me. I think think MAXI is full blown toxicity in the form of a money grab by those that are most toxic. It has a short term bullish set up. Accounts but in $500 and are sitting on 20k. At the end of the day it is a zero utility, zero dev feces coin. The whole mantra of "sell Moxie and buy my worthless shitcoin that we made in 3 minutes" is laughable.
