Gymnastics and CrossFit fanatic here. Have to point out that Christopher Summers (ex head Olympic coach of the US Olympic team) integrated kipping pull-ups only as a training tool for a proper pull up for his athletes. Was not meant to be a stand alone exercise in the way CrossFit integrated it in their competitive sports arena.
