With all due respect, I’d like to clarify a few points: First, Islam has been present in Iran for many centuries and remains an important and cherished part of the cultural and spiritual identity of many Iranians. Sharing a misleading or obviously fake image under the label of “pre-revolution Iran” is both historically inaccurate and disrespectful. Second, it’s clear from the appearance of the individuals, the classroom setup, and other details that this image is from an East Asian context most likely AI-generated or shared with the intent to provoke or mislead. As a journalist, I believe there’s a responsibility to verify content before posting, especially when it involves sensitive cultural or historical topics. Thank you for understanding.✨

This is a 4chan screenshot. Basically a nexus of disinformation that's been meme-ifying pranks like this for over 20 years. People familiar with 4chan recognize this post as a "hey look what those weird 4chan kids are posting about now" rather than a sincere attempt to disseminate legitimate information. Sometimes people forget that not everyone knows what 4chan is, so they don't put things in the proper context for a general audience. Good on you for not knowing about 4chan though, that place is a burning sewage pit 😄
