It's intriguing that the only form of communism that ever worked was the kibbutzim, and then only for a few decades (though apparently they're coming back).

I started my career in a private equity that bought 50% stake in Kibbutzim factories. Spent a lot of time in many. They had amazing innovation (they led the 70s-00s Israel tech sector, today considered low tech). But all failed management wise and eventually most of them crumbled under the weight of collectivism

They used to have the best š§ in Israel (that today instead go and work on tech). That allowed them to innovate on another level. But eventually, the collaborative system was broken and never survived more than a few decades

A gated community / DAO. The kibbutz, which was founded by my grandfathers as a mixture of socialist values and industrial and agricultural practices. Recently, I just came back to a regenerating community. Still some problems, most important is inheritance rights. The collective model has changed a lot since 80s -90s.
