dubious that doordash is targeting EBT. probably works well: low impulse control / high time preference is ideal for many businesses including pawn shops, payday loans, and now $6.99 delivery apps (after the free promo) from people who really can't be paying $6.99 for delivery

under the auspices of helping out those down on their luck. This is good PR and more business. Strictly a good financial move, but I agree predatory and bad long-term societal outcomes and they know it

I'm so ticker brained I thought this was a snapchat partnership and I was wondering what company EBT was

Ultimately people should use their brain and make smart choices. Time spent working results in money, which is spent on food. Cooking food ahead of time is what smart people do. Buy groceries. Make the food at home. Pack your lunch. This isn’t limited to a tax bracket.

I agree this is a bit predatory but it also might really help some people shop that dont have cars or cant get to a legit grocery store. Its probalby cheaper than an uber and walking home with groceries is sometimes not great for take out restaurant meals yea probably not great (no idea if ebt works at restaurants)

tbh i see this as accessibility. while its not the best choice fiscally to conserve, it lends options. lots of people who are just tryna get by have EBT - they deserve to netflix and chill without going to the bodega too
