Feels like a bad time for free speech. - In US and Europe, there's a growing gusto for suppression of "misinformation"/"disinformation"/etc which often turns out to be correct later... - On the flip side, here's Trump casually shitposting that the news "must be licensed". What in the third world? In this environment, permissionless media & credibly neutral sources of ground truth will keep getting more important. Check out the book "Active Measures" for a 100 year history of extremely well funded and effective disinformation campaigns. They are very real.
