hah, i've only ever seen a couple or few minutes of it at most, but it's one of those titles that had embedded itself in my mind. definitely on my ever-growing to-watch/to-read list. all this time, too, and i only just realized that the setting of the film is one tiny town over from the little indiana town where i spent some early formative years.

i love early wyler and hate late wyler so i am scared

what's an early one you'd recommend and a late one that didn't measure up for you? i remember enjoying "roman holiday" (late?) but that might be 'cheating'  since audrey hepburn is in it

lot of the 30s stuff is great — A House Divided, Dodsworth, Jezebel, Wurthering Heights, and later, The Heiress
