I just listened to the whole recording and found the actual policy points Trump and Musk discussed to be pretty reasonable. Are people in the replies allergic to hearing Trumpâs voice or something? Youâre here to choose a commander-in-chief whose economic and military policy decisions have lasting consequences for the country and for the world, now with unprecedented access to hours of candid conversation that you wonât find anywhere on TV⊠and youâre choosing to tune a guy out based on what you perceive to be a weird or obnoxious delivery style? Thought Farcaster-natives of all people were better than this đ

I found a good recap of the actual policy points here if youâd rather just read them. Anyway, back to building đ ïž https://x.com/jaltucher/status/1823394575672598644

A lot on FC feels that hiding and not doing interviews is a good strategy so go figure.

I can't stand listening to him because nothing he says has substance. It's just empty words that mean nothing. Yes, Trump is really good at saying the things that he knows ppl want to hear. I don't need to listen to him pander to know it makes no difference on how much I trust him. Yay, Trump and Musk are aware of issues that matter! I didn't need a 2 hour interview to confirm that point. If you listen to him outside of the closed box of "this is an interview with a presidential candidate", it changes how you react to his words. The fact that he's audibly difficult to tolerate is just an easy red herring to focus on. His actions over his lifetime have told me what I need to know about him, and no interviews or NDE's can change that. (And it's not unique to him, I get that. I think that's why ppl are over vapid political interviews as a whole.)
