I always appreciate when interfaces don't try to hide what protocols they build on or dumb things down for consumers, but instead treat them as teachable moments waiting to be discovered. Show me all the nerdy details. Just be tasteful about it, and be upfront about which parts are bespoke/experimental/proprietary.

Agreed but they also need to function seamlessly without the end user having to know or care how. E.g., people use Venmo because it just works. But you can also glean a lot of info about payment networks just by using it — credit card tx fees vs debit card, Venmo credits, auth txs — but you don’t have to.
