I’ve also been thinking about quitting Spotify. But I don’t think switching to Apple, YouTube, or Tidal is the answer. I’d rather go back to buying the music I listen to and actually getting the files, so I can download them and play them on whatever music player I want https://www.hearingthings.co/why-we-quit-spotify/

Good call, I think. Since I came of age before the rise of streaming, buying and downloading the files (and/or ripping them from my CDs) has always been the norm for me. I use Roon to organize my music library. I've never used Spotify and I'm certainly not about to start now. Tried Qobuz for awhile but they didn't have much of the music I'm into. Bandcamp is my mainstay, and I use YouTube for things I can't find on Bandcamp.

It’s really hard to ditch YouTube. All music videos live on there. But I agree with you, Bandcamp and maybe something like Catalog for crypto payments is the way to go. Would be nice if Bandcamp added crypto payment option
