Hi Farcaster friends. Some personal news: My stepfather is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's and has just been placed in a memory care home. Fortunately he's in good hands and has the support he needs. Lots to do IRL, so I may be casting less frequently for awhile. Nonetheless, I'm just as much of a Farcaster maxi as ever and will be here when I can. I've made some dear friends here, and I wanted y'all to know why I may be slower than usual (and I'm usually kinda slow anyway... lol) to respond to notifs or DCs. π

Thinking of you Danica, Iβve seen dementia take away a lot, and also give a lot. I run a quality of life company for older people (often living with a dementia) and we provide care at home. For what itβs worth, the people and families who suffer most are those that stay fixed and attached to an idea of a person. Those that can be in the moment with whatever is happening, embracing the other persons world, supporting them where they are, going to their place of strength (often accessing the past, or sensory experiences); are the ones who tend to have more positive experiences, more moments of joy and connection. If you ever want to chat about it - text or video Iβm happy to. Wishing you and your family well in all of this. π

That's excellent advice. I think my family is doing about as well as we can on that front, fortunately. Good to know you have this sort of care experience with elderly folks, too. I will keep that in mind! Very much appreciate your kind-heartedness and supportive words.π
