pizza

I’m back home where I spent my summers as a kid/teen and it’s like a time machine.  We always stop for pizza at Charlie’s in Buzzards Bay. It literally has not changed in 40 years — including the music. Journey was on when we walked in.

This pizza is specifically found the southeastern Massachusetts area—bar pizza or sometimes called Brockton bar room pizza. Essentially the same recipe at Charlie’s or Cape Cod Cafe or the Town Spa (iykyk) — it must be tasted to fully appreciate it. Pizza in Florida sucks so this is the time of year I get my fix of the good stuff  

So vacay is off to a delicious start! 🍕

Love it. Recently I went back to Eugene, OR where I completed my undergrad studies in the early 1990s, and discovered that some of my favorite hangouts were still there and hadn't changed at all. 

Found it deeply comforting and nostalgic in the best way.

So comforting! There’s a lot of places around here where it’s the case that nothing has changed. But when I visited my college all the old haunts are gone. Big cities always changing.
