Generally have a more minimal parenting style and prefer to let em learn through experience but the author of The Sovereign Child took it to a whole new level here. Draw the line on this one cause cause and effect are too indirect, a kid won’t know better.

I started reading this after Naval’s recommendation. What did you think? Too extreme? you found it useful?

That must be where I got it. Been sitting on my kindle for months. I only read the first chapter so far. Good but the ice cream bit is too extreme imo. - he's the one stocking the house with ice cream, so he's still controlling the environment. "waiting for obesity to show up" feels dishonest. - cause and effect of eating too far apart, ie not obvious malnutrition impacts mood, patience, and cognitive function. feedback loops are too slow but will work through the rest, sometimes extreme things are good to find medians.
