Good question. I don't think I've read every book, but I greatly enjoye 1Q84 and Killing Commendatore. 

Have you ever read something by Elif Shafak? It's different, less magical, but beautiful epic stories, too.

Ah i havent read Killing Commendatore!

For High School I had to read Kafka on the Shore (loved it!) and that's how I got introduced!

It's totally bizarre, but amazing. So vividly written. 
I read The Discovery of Heaven in my last year of VWO (yes, I'm that old, it was the year it came out). I still love Mulisch as well.
