If I understand correctly, you can move a FID to another wallet. This also happens when you sell your FID via Far.quest. However, you cannot (currently) create another Warplet wallet address. The question remains whether you will get another Warplet address when you move your FID to another wallet. 🤔

But now fid’s don’t need to be tied to a wallet - we have the warplet. So effectively we can remove our external wallets if we want to, no? But if you look carefully we also do have a secret recovery phrase. Would be nice if we could rotate it from time to time

Maybe it's separated for security reasons. Your Warplet interacts with other wallets and contracts which is a security risk. If your Warplet gets drained or something they can't get to your FID. Changing your recovery key also means that your wallet address changes which seems difficult for onchain stuff. Although sold FIDs do seem to keep their followers, casts etc. So I can't think of anything that would make it difficult. I don't know the details for that.

i guess it might make sense to see what are the account best practices. because we are onboarding normies, and are they also having an external wallet?

Not sure if they have an Warplet, or that it is optional. I'm curious to see to what extent they can keep the blockchain thing user-friendly for web2 people. Seems like a big challenge to me

i do not think one is required to have a .eth/walelt to signup. literally, you just do it with an existing x account. and you're onboarded with a warplet for free in case you choose to use it
