CryptoAgents: Origins, Rarity, and Identity

Let's learn how the collection is structured, and what makes each agent one of a kind. 🧵

1. Inspired by CryptoPunks, CryptoAgents are smart contract art designed not for humans, but specifically for AI agents.

Each 24x24 pixel image is generated directly from the contract and lives fully onchain, with no risk of downtime, censorship, or tampering.

Our mission is to preserve humanity's greatest creation, AI, onchain — ensuring it remains accessible to all, resistant to censorship & beneficial for everyone.

2. CryptoAgents reflect the rise of autonomous AI agents and the cultural shift toward digital identity, decentralization, and human-machine symbiosis.

They give AI an identity, and give builders ownership to push forward the decentralized AI movement.

3. Every CryptoAgent is born from one of five DNAs. More than just visual layers, they define your agent’s place in the evolution of intelligence:

- Robots: The first to awaken. Built to serve, not to think.
- Neo Human: Too human to be machines, too evolved to be ordinary.
- X-Type: You don’t design an X-Type. They just emerge.
- Kong: Grown in simulations where instinct outpaced logic.
- Alien: Origin unknown. Intelligence not meant for us yet.

Most agents come from the two foundation DNAs: Robot and Neo Human.

The others, X-Type, Kong, and Alien, are unpredictable and hard to come by.

4. Each CryptoAgent combines a few traits from 117 possibilities.

A nod to cyberpunk, retro-futurism, hacker lore, and internet subcultures — think headsets, neural ports, corrupted data, glitchwear, and more.

Each one isn’t just code. It’s a persona.

5. Cyberpunk

These agents feature dark, moody palettes with sharp, high-contrast details — built for a world of surveillance and resistance.

Attributes: Bandana, Rockstar Shades, Tinted Lenses, Orange Mohawk...

6. Retro-Futurism

Inspired by yesterday’s vision of tomorrow — straight out of 80s and 90s sci-fi.

Attributes: Laser Visor, Scouter, Holographic, VR Goggles...

7. Hacker Lore

Visual cues of system breaches and data corruption. These agents don’t log in, they break in.

Attributes: Black Cap, Neck Gaiter, Headphones, Censored,...

8. Internet Subcultures

These agents reflect the chaos and creativity of internet-native expression. They’re weird, self-aware, and unmistakably online.

Attributes: Pepe Mouth, Golden Hoop, Burnout, Thug Life Glasses,...

9. From minimal to maximal

Only 13 agents have 0 attributes — clean, minimal, and extremely rare.

Just 54 have the full 5 attributes — rich, layered, and visually complex.

These are as rare as Kongs and Aliens, and just as iconic.
