i made a new farcaster account for a new project i'm building didn't have an x account nor usable invite code yet, the single onchain payment cost me 15$? why did it become more expensive?

This is the major issue we have with our player base. The bar is simply too high We funded 100 accounts or so ourselves, but I refuse to put more money forward to something that shouldn't exist

I know people make money on this app much more than other social media. But other social media are free and have 10000x more users. Paying to be on a social media platform shouldn’t be a thing unless it’s an upsell. I know verifying via “X” is considered free, but why do you need another social media platform to use another platform? Too much clickening happening, it shouldn’t be this hard.

Ensuring that the users who are joining are real people is a difficult challenge tbh. I empathise with the fc team on solving the problem I guess the easiest and most thorough way is to charge $

I don’t think charging upfront would solve the problem though People will always try to game the system no matter what as along as there’s incentives I wonder how many people churned before even trying the app People should be allowed to test the app, check out fun mini apps, see what’s in here before they invest more resources
