I've been hooked on the Merlin bird ID app since autumn, but didn't want to bore the people here with screenshots.

This and iNaturalist are the only apps I truly NEED

You can ID all living things! 
You can definitely ID frogs by sound. It’s location-based too so the ID’s are aligned with local observations. The best part is other people can help you ID things. 

I love downloading my data from their site every now and then - I used it for school projects in the past.

Just looked into iNaturalist, it's for identifying plants, right? Just what I needed! I've been using Google lens but being able to collect your searches is what I missed. 
Does it ID frog sounds I wonder? 👀
