while i do not think humans are inherently evil, i do think we are inherently selfish. however i also do not think this is a bad thing

i beg to differ, i don’t think selfishness is evil, or that humans are baseline evil

Humans are both evil and selfish, selfishness being a component of evil

Selfishness might just be a survival instinct.

If me looking out for myself and putting me first in everything I do is being selfish then I think I'm okay with that.

To go far in life, you need to be selfish to an extent, if you keep putting others first in every aspect of your life, you’ll never get anywhere.
