i lied about being a welder [i had poorly welded a chair once] to get the job. i worked for 3 days before they realized i sucked at welding. i sucked worse than even i thought, i couldn't see shit with my hood on, wondering how anyone could weld with precision. i became shop manager because i was trustworthy

a year later my boss tried to use my welding hood and realized that the protective plastic film was still on the inside of the vizor [i bought it the day before i started] and you couldn't see through it at all haha. he peeled it off and turns out i could weld just fine. he became my best friend [40 years older than me]
