to my designers/creatives, how important do you think it is to learn some aspect of motion and interaction design? seems like so many things are almost calling for designers to have some level of familiarity with it across job types

i think it's a great skill set to have under your belt. you'll definitely have an extra edge over folks who don't know it. also, when you're working w motion designers, it's helpful to have some insight into their workflow too. so it'll make your life easier in a way, when it comes to prepping files to be sent over for an animation. less back and forth.

Yea a lot of jobs are asking for it indirectly which feels fucked but also probably an advantage

it is fucked for sure but keeping that aside, picking up a new skill is gonna benefit you in the long run imo. just make sure you’re compensated for it if you decide to go that route :)

Yea I think it’s a must tbh, doing web design, ux/ui, and graphics, motion is just gobbling up parts of it
