The hardest part with nft apps is smart fetching/ caching of metadata.

For this, I am first checking the alchemy API which very frequently does not return any metadata on individual nfts. If it doesn't, it will try a few on-chain calls (uri, tokenURI, etc) And then stores that data in redis for quick retrieval.

In my past and present experience building NFT apps, both apis are really underwhelming. At another company we switched from moralis to alchemy but it was not that much better.

using their mcp, besides that it doesn't work (says we need to upgrade, but we're already on the paid plan, contacted their support already) it's actually great for llms (better than coingecko or coinmarketcap)
