what happens is that as we are writing, we're clarifying our thinking. sometimes it takes five paragraphs before we know what we really want to say. so the conclusion ends up being the clearest paragraph out of all the ones we've written.

write the article starting at whatever point you can. then when you're done, go back and write the thesis for the article you actually wrote instead of what you were trying to write
