Several days of meditation sounds wonderful. Before Covid, someone in our building at work used to hold weekly Thursday mediation. Loved it and the focus that came with it. ☺️ 100 πŸ‘πŸ½

45 mins long. This is an office building with several businesses in it in Torrance. None of the businesses have any affiliation with the others at all. Yet, one day, we found a letter taped to our door. It was an invitation to join meditation sessions once a week from 8a-8:45am. No charge. No shilling anything. Just come if you want and join the meditation. A few of us did. The ones who invited us brought some blocks, pillows, etc. for us to sit on. We sat in a loose circle. Someone gave us simple instructions to sit, clear our minds, straighten our spines, close our eyes or partially close them, breathe in deeply and out through our mouths three times, shrug our shoulders up to our ears and then let them fall in a relaxed position, once our breath is even and calm, a soft gong chimed. We were asked to just focus on our breath and nothing else. If our mind wanders, refocus on breath. Don’t chastise yourself for losing focus. Just recognize that it happened and refocus. If your mind wanders, recognize it and refocus on breath. It’s natural for your mind to do this. It’s not anyone’s fault. There is no fault here. Just refocus. Let go. In the beginning, I could barely focus on my breath. My mind was a wretched mess. However, as I continued my practice it got easier. I found a tiny bit of peace. ☺️
