Coinbase announced a lot of exciting stuff yesterday at their State of Crypto event in NYC!

Here's the 4 big things they announced that I'm really excited about:

1. Coinbase x Shopify: USDC payments + Commerce Payments Protocol 

2. Coinbase Base One Credit Card in partnership with American Express

3. Coinbase Business: all-in-one financial mgmt platform for small biz and entrepreneurs

4. DEX Trading within the main Coinbase app

1. USDC will be a default payment option on Shopify Payments.  No additional app or payment method to install, just USDC on Base natively within Shop Pay.  Bridge/Stripe actually facilitate the the merchant payments with Stripe Connect so it's really all 3 companies coming together.

Shopify will enable USDC (Stablecoins on @Base) in Checkout via Shopify Payments and Shop Pay. Early access starts today, roll out throughout the year.

I love analyzing the “benefits” for credit cards and how they’re marketed. New Coinbase One plan will be $50/year. If you hold a minimum balance of $10k USDC on Coinbase all year, you’ll get $40 back (extra .4% APY). Zero trading fees… but spread! So.. do we know if you’re actually saving on these trades? Probably not. No one is hitting $10/mo in gas fees on base. My primary wallet is just over $1 so far this year. lol

We don’t know yet how much you need to hold on Coinbase to actually unlock the 4% cash back tier, but it’s probably going to be higher than majority of current balances. 

TL;DR: it’s probably not worth it, but damn the card looks sexy

Yeah probably what they offer in the Coinbase One tier at the higher levels which I think is 50bps

I also wonder what kind of sweet ass spread they’re going to have on all those BTC buys

Yeah key question is how much USDC you'll have to hold on Coinbase to unlock the 4% cashback.

My guess is probably like $20K+ but I hope its only $10k
