chat boxes as the de facto ai interface pattern got engrained so quickly we didn’t even have space to consider the ideal experience for professional use cases chat histories organised by threads are not ergonomic after a couple messages, no matter if nested in project or a folder. great as a google replacement, terrible as a workspace rarely will the first or main thread lead me where i want to be, or allow to explore options without getting completely lost feels a lot more comfortable to have my process visualised as a flow-chart, diagram, or canvas

Show me *any* good UI for organizing text that doesn't require an *exact* conformity to the UI's rules

it’s about organising the direction of thinking, not organising text flora is the closest with their flow charts. you can branch into 2 or more versions of a draft. then you branch from thag draft again if needed. a thread like in gpt or claude is a linear scroll where after 3 iterations i already lost the original one. i can’t have version 2 and 3 side by side. countless ergonomic issues.
