I wish blockchains could handle real throughput I want 100+ Gigagas per second. Remove all constraints for app development so we can put all the logic onchain Every chain talks about 10k TPS, but that's just transfers. Even 1 Gigagas/sec is single-digit megabytes/sec

You’d have to sacrifice decentralization though to get this kind of throughput. So it would be closer to a centralized db than a blockchain

does physics not allow you to have such tps AND decentralization?

i think the challenge is how do you propagate 1gb/sec to hundreds/thousands of nodes then how do you handle storage requirements, keeping everything in sync, etc while maintaining decentralization, which rn is often defined as is it possible for an individual to run a node

there's lots of situations where the question is faulty, I don't think everyone should be storing TBs of data Ethereum & Light clients are a step towards a real solution the challenge is big, I agree with you 100%, but should we just say "not doable" and move on? our future may very well depend on this tech reaching exit velocity
