as a kid, i used to tell my mom i'd kill myself at 27.
not the most sane thing for a 10 year old to say, but honestly, the fact that i was never afraid of dying was kinda based.

now i'm 28, and living the happiest life i've ever known.

I had a similar morbid fascination thing with hendrix, cobain, morrison, joplin, and later farley and belushi.  With my first child on the way at 45, I'm finding my life truly began years after I thought it was over.
