It’s been 5 weeks since the @baseapp.base.eth beta launched at New Day 1. Since then, we’ve thoughtfully onboarded over 30K people. Here’s what we’ve learned so far 🧵 🧠 Key Learnings • Clear entry points for earning are critical • When people understand HOW rewards work, they engage more. • Social onboarding > wallet funding • More jargon can be killed (“slippage”, “marketcap”, etc.) • Simple, focused, and delightful mini-apps beat complex ones 👀 Behaviors We’re Seeing • Over 20% of people earn in week 1, just by making content • Posting → instant $ feels magical to people used to traditional social • Friend clusters through chat and invites lead to more engagement • AI agents + group chats unlock multiplayer magic • Social discovery is alpha. I am a proud beta tester. I do notice a lag in getting fresh content as I tend to see much older casts (compared to FC client), even after refreshing. Also, I would like to be able to tag clickable usernames in my bio. Keep up the great work! It’s a marathon, not a sprint 🫡

Oh, I have problems opening the app a lot of times. Notifications work fine but I switch to Farcaster in 4 out of 5 times, because the app just won't open.

Give people 5% of the earnings of a person and they'll engage and buy more themselves and will make an active effort to onboard people. (I obviously understand the downsides of being called a pyramid scheme)

Huge fan of your work! Is the apps still closed beta? I feel like I’m getting a lot of bot engagement from the base app such that “sent from the base app” is becoming a negative signal to me.

What about smart account compatibility so that users can create nft collections(such as a song on tortoise) from the base app and have it be collected on all clients?

Great progress. What is being done for spam and farm accounts? We’ve seen countless of these accounts coming from TBA interacting with our app.

Great job 👏 Personal request: Please please please please please prioritize adding a client side block feature. I’ve been a beta user since farcon and I’ve had to totally stop using Base app because I can’t control bots and the accounts that interact with me + no notification control. I’m sure it’s on the list and it’s only an edge case for certain users, but it’s rough.

BASED AF 🟦 ✨ I've been trying to post anything that comes to mind in the feedback section... but since you asked... 🥹 I have been wanting to change my username back to my Basename since it got changed 👉👈 Otherwise, most of my requests are being/already taken care of although if asked I would have to say that having profile/priority notifs would be my top request — even @zora added them before you xdd 💜 I am SUPER STOKED to see that invites will be given out to the most BASED users to begin onboarding fresh meat I mean users! 👀
