have you tries wrapping the bottle tops with duct tape
then save it when you're there
then re-wrap before you fly again

it's tough because they will expand 🤷‍♀️

i rebel against the status quo!!! (combining everyone's tips i will get some daiso containers + put a piece of plastic between the cap and the bottle + put it in a hard container + put ziploc)

My aunt and cousin just wrap it around

I put one strand across the top, then one wrap around the lid. My bottle leak from the opening not the threaded area typically.
