this is the most luxurious dollhouse in history – just look at its rooms and details! in 1686, it was commissioned by petronella oortman, the wife of a wealthy amsterdam silk merchant. the "construction" took 24 years – and here's why: 1. every item is made of real materials: the marble floor is made of marble, the fabric wallpaper is made of silk, and the wooden furniture is made of precious wood 2. art in miniature: the paintings were done by famous artists of the era, the porcelain dishes were created by chinese craftsmen, and the library with 83 leather-bound volumes contains real books with text 3. and a little more that’s amazing: a kitchen with plumbing, cabinets with tiny clothes, and bedroom linen embroidered with the client’s initials in the end, its cost is comparable to that of a real house

I'm fascinated. After all, it is more difficult to make small objects than life-size. 21 $DEGEN
