Galina Ulanova on vacation at the dacha
Komarovo village, 1946-1947
In the village of Komarovo, on 2nd Dachnaya Street, there was a dacha where Galina Ulanova lived after the war with her mother, Maria Feodorovna Romanova, a former classical dancer. Director Alexander Belinsky recalls how he watched Ulanova's rehearsal in Komarovo:
It was at a dacha in Komarovo. A stick was made in the garden. "Uncle Seryozha" - Maria Feodorovna's cousin, who felt sympathy for me, found a suitable position behind the bushes. I did not dare to ask either Maria Feodorovna or, especially, Ulanova for permission to attend their classes. In the performance of any combination given by her mother, Galina Sergeevna had something that distinguished - and still distinguishes - her dance from all ballerinas: any movement of Ulanova has no beginning, no end, subsequent movements arise as a natural continuation of the previous ones, and there is no other continuation and cannot be. 4 replies
