I think we should include FOCIL in Glamsterdam. Yes it delays the fork, but L1 scaling isn’t the urgent need we thought it was a year ago. Since then we’ve seen big institutions choose Ethereum L1 because they care about counterparty risk. These actors currently wait days or even a month for large internationals transfers to settle and pay hundreds in fees, by comparison Ethereum L1 is already 50x or more faster and cheaper. Also post-Fusaka, L2 fees will be near zero to compete with the centralized alt-L1s. What matters now is that Ethereum stays neutral. Without FOCIL, I can’t honestly say we have the censorship resistance we need. https://x.com/soispoke/status/1988899654335873251

Neutrality and privacy should be prioritized over bandwidth. Ethereum is the most neutral chain, and privacy can only be implemented at scale on Ethereum because of its neutrality and censorship resistance. Any other chain (L1 or L2) that tries to implement privacy at scale will be stopped at various chokepoints.

People say, Zcash, Monero, Dash (?) offer privacy, but I want to remind them that some years ago, all major CEXes delisted and stoped using them overnight when US regulators threatened them. And then there was no way to on/off ramp. Only the Ethereum **ecosystem** (L1, L2, DeFi) is strong enough and large enough to give this fight.
