Another analogy I love - wealthy people have always borrowed against appreciating assets like homes, letting their wealth grow while unlocking capital to spend

Now with Aave, Morpho, and others, that same opportunity is open to anyone who with an internet connection and ETH

I get that. But still, starlink is a centralized worse solution than the old infra (optic fiber, for example) and should not just replace it in the places where the “old infra” doesn’t arrive. It should just be complementary.

On the other hand, stablecoins can be built on top of better infra, like Ethereum, with better attributes.

So imo, it’s an interesting analogy for a specific attribute (offering an alternative), but not a good analogy.

The analogy isn’t about how Starlink is governed, it’s about what it does. Both Starlink and ethereum offer alternative infrastructure if the old system doesn’t work or is non existent

I don’t think it’s a right analogy, starlink is terribly centralized, not universal nor neutral. With Ukraine we even saw how its right to access depends even on only one person.
