Then @diid took the mic.

An onchain artist and creative technologist, he builds tools, helps others launch art and orgs onchain, and today he challenged the whole space with one idea:

Onchain art is boring.

Most onchain art is basically tech demos:  
→ “First to use this contract”  
→ “Fully onchain, but…”

Why is it on Ethereum?  
Why should anyone care?  
If you don’t know, neither will they.

Tyler Hobbs’ essay “Intellectualism has hampered generative art” was a big influence.

Quote @diid keeps on his wall:  
> “The viewer does not care. If the painting doesn’t grab them, they won’t stick around to learn the details.”

Why? Because most onchain art obsesses over technical firsts instead of creating something that actually grabs people.

We’ve forgotten to make people feel something.
