Varoufakis has not once been wrong. The most underrated economist (among the establishment of course, he's very popular among researchers and students) has been saying this since before the election. The only way to undermine Trump's plan is for the other countries to set aside their differences and act in unison. This is why the Chinese / Eastern prejudice in Europe is so stupid. You have China who wants to be your equal partner despite their clear leverage, and European leaders still want to be USA's pets.

Really admire Varoufakis. His book 'The Adults in the Room' is a stinging critique of EU incompetence. Not unlike when read 'Fire and the Fury' laughed quite a bit while reading it. He's a good writer and the policies he presented to the Greek government during his time as Finance Minister made a lot of sense to me. Only not sure why he has sort of assumed this dark tone in his monologues. Hence why miss David Graeber who tended to have a more jaunty style. Both he and Jason Hickle should develop a similar tone. But then again it is not for my benefit so maybe they know the tone they need for their target audiences. In regards to Europe, it is quite simple why they are not working well with the rest of the world. It's simply a collective white fear. In short: racism. They aught to just admit it instead of awkwardly contorting themselves for reasons of decorum.
