It took a long time, a dedicated effort and moving to a place where things where less convenient to buy for me to break out of the consumerism mindset. It’s been transformative. 

I want a Kindle Paperwhite though 😅

I’ve had a Kindle since the very first one and I adore adore the new paper whites, especially because you can change the warmth of the light so you can read in bright sunlight or in pitch black darkness very very comfortably.  anything that makes your reading experience easier and gets you to get off of a distracting device and focus on device that’s not gonna interrupt you is worth it’s wait in gold.

Totally. I use an Oasis Gen10 from 2019. All those quality of life things are nice. The speed of my current kindle kill’s me and the new paper whites look snappy.

I also have a scribe but it’s too big to just want to carry around and read on all the time.

It’s definitely a nice size and the battery life is amazing. The screen is a big improvement from the first one. 

LPT, get the kids one if it’s on sale. No ads because ads are illegal for kids. You get free kid books for like a year (some great series I enjoyed) and you can turn off kid mode but still get no ads. The the cases it comes with are all super cute.
