I only just realized that the Farcaster collectibles are 1-of-1s, not coins. I think that’s a far better approach, honestly. That said, I’m still not going to bid on any and don’t really think you should waste your money either, but I will leave them turned on and you’re welcome to go wild with my casts, just don’t come to me when no one buys your illiquid json blob.

1of1s feel pointless to me. There's no such thing as digital scarcity and we should stop trying to make it happen.

Collectibles in general are fine, and whatever allows creators to monetize their content is cool, but saying "this is the only one" for something you can just copypaste/screenshot feels like throwing money to the bin.

Yeah it's a bit too much. We still haven't found out the right formula but open editions are definitely much more natural

I agree and that’s why I was fine with open editions but this zora/bass model of coining posts and setting aside a portion and creating an LP and showing the value as market cap and earning off fees while people waste money on something that is worse for everyone than just direct patronage, IMO sucks
