I did my postdoc research on sleep and discovered new genetic variants for sleep duration and timing (when you want to wake up and go to bed) the one sleep advice I have is don’t try to change what your natural rhythm is to meet some weird Saratoga water ideal—if you work best late then just wake up late

if you are up for re-discovering/calibrating to your natural state here’s an experiment similar to what is recommended for meditation retreats sleep without minding the alarm or schedule for a few days to catch up on sleep debt then see where you naturally land that might be closer to one’s natural rhythm
