Ooh I’m gonna listen. Less in favor of means testing, there’s already a spectrum of amounts disbursed. More in favor of removing the cap on amount of income subject to SS & Medicare taxes, to increase $ coming in for both programs and emphasize the social safety net is about raising everyone up in old age. Will see if thoughts change after the listen

I am in favor of means testing because some people truly should get ZERO If you are a multimillionaire you don’t need 65k in gov buxx annually from SSA you just don’t

What percentage of SS payments go toward folks with say >5M liquid ? Just question the cost of policing through means testing

Her entire plan for SSA seems good https://manhattan.institute/article/a-comprehensive-federal-budget-plan-to-avert-a-debt-crisis-2024 You have to cut from somewhere and eliminating people who really don’t need to be on it seems like a great way to do that She points out SSA is supposed to prevent poverty We could probably withdraw benefits from net worth $500k+ at retirement, not sure where her exact cutoff is She also wants to raise age and change how the benefit is calculated entirely I’m a fan of it all lol
